Coaches Bio
Kristi Marks,
our Women's
Competitive Director, has been involved in
gymnastics for over twenty years. After spending
eight years as a competitive gymnast, Kristi
focused on coaching, judging, and assisting in
the development of the Alberta L.E.A.P. program.
She began her coaching career at Ortona
Gymnastics and during that time achieved her
N.C.C.P. Level 3 as well as Abuse Prevention,
Risk Management, and Chief L.E.A.P. evaluator.
After ten years coaching with Ortona, she chose
to further her career accepting the position of
Women's Program Coordinator with Oakville
Gymnastics Club. Kristi joined Capital City
Gymnastics Club in September 2004 as our Women's
Program Director where she continues to focus
her experience and enthusiasm on the development
of our competitive programs, coaches and
gymnasts.
Liang Cheng,
our Men’s
Competitive Director, has been involved in
gymnastics for many years. After spending ten
years as a competitive gymnast and a member of
the Chinese Gymnastics National Team, Liang
moved to Canada to coach. Liang is Level 4 NCCP
certified. Liang has been a part of the Capital
City gymnastics coaching team for the past nine
years as a men’s coach and has been the Men’s
Competitive Director for the past two years. He
has been instrumental in the development of two
of Canada’s Senior National team Members,
Brandon O’Neill and Jared Walls. Liang coaches
the Provincial and National Stream athletes.
Liang is also a Network Technician at the
University of Alberta.
