National Novice highlights:
Alyson Arcand and Ayrie Freedman finished 1st and 2nd in the AA, and this was their 1st National Novice competition!
Alyson Arcand also recieved 1st on beam and 2nd on floor.
Ayrie Freedman got 1st on vault and 2nd on bars.
Chloe Harrison finished 1st on floor and 2nd on vault.
National Open highlights:
Haley Brannon got 1st AA by almost 2 points, and Haley placed in the top 3 on every event!
Brooke Wilchuck connected her series on beam and got 5th on beam and 5th in the AA.
Trinity Parker landed her double tuck on floor and got 7th on floor.
Sara McLean only competed 2 events due to a hamstring injury. Sara got 5th on bars.
Great work Capital City athletes and coaches!
Juliana Minervini and Brooklynn Hyland competed Saturday, December 10th in the P2 North category. The girls did great, and out of 54 girls Brooklynn came 6th AA and Juliana 12th AA. They also rocked floor coming away with 2 medals - Juliana 1st and Brooklynn 3rd! Brooklyn made the Zone 6 Level 2 Alberta Winer Games team and Juliana is the team alternate.
Katie Chaput and Alex Jelinski competed Sunday, December 11th in the P4 North category. Alex Jelinski did an awesome tsuk pike and fantastic floor. Alex got 1st on vault, 1st on floor, and 1st AA. Katie Chaput also did 2 great vaults, clean bars, and beautiful floor. Katie got 2nd on floor, 2nd on bars, and 5th AA. Alex made the Zone 6 Level 3/4 Alberta Winter Games team.

Capital City Men’s team brought home an impressive 15 medals from the 2011 Canadian National Championships this past week in Charlottetown, PEI, along with several national champions. Congratulations to all our athletes who competed at Nationals on a job well done.
